The numerous court cards that depicted women adorned with lace and jewels inspired me to add those same embellishments to the front of the black velvet bag that Llewellyn enclosed with my Victoria Regina deck. The following cards provided the primary inspiration: Princess of Wands, Prince of Swords, Queen of Wands, Queen of Coins, Queen of Cups and even the Seven of Cups. The white lace was a scrap that I gathered into a circle and then I attached a lapis colored "jewel" which was set in an antiqued pewter base on top of the lace circle. The imitation jewel was a recycled clip earring, which had been residing in a corner of my jewelry box far too long because the earrings were uncomfortable. --Betty Diamond, www.tarottotes.com |
